Leonetto Cappiello Italian poster art designer (1875-1942) is often referred to as the "father of modern advertising" . He was credited with revolutionizing the art of poster design. The original was created in 1922 for the umbrella manufacturer Revel Parasolier and was intended to be used as a counter display in the United Kingdom. It was printed in a small format of 4.5” x 7” with English text using stone lithography. This famous ad representing three people with umbrellas battling the rain and a high wind is one of the best known posters by Cappiello.
