A lovely pair of champleve' enamel earrings by Miguel Arias. A former employee of Margot Van Voorhies (1896-1985), Arias was, along with other people in her employ, allowed to use her molds after her business folded in 1974 as a form of debt forgiveness. The earrings measure 1 5/8" long x 5/8" at the widest. One earring has a very small chip in the enamel that is best seen in the 3rd photo. It's on the very edge of the enameling, about mid-way on the bottom edge. Marked on the reverse, "Sterling, Hecho En Mexico" & "M. Arias, 925, Taxco Cro". The pair have a combined weight of 13.5 grams. Despite the dinky chip, I still consider them to be in very nice vintage condition.
