Per our research this coat dates being made in the 1950's by the Clearfield Taxidermy Co. Division of Clearfield Furs, Inc. The company Clearfield Taxidermy Co. was established in 1915. Three to Four average to large skins (deer) were used for a sturdy long wearing jacket or coat for average sizes for men and women. This trench coat would have taken more than 3-4 skins (deer) to make due to its size/length. Per a 1954 ad by the company they used two materials for lining either Rayon or Cotton Gabardine. This particular trench coat has the Rayon Lining. Per the company's various ads the coats were custom tailor
