The back reads "Meriden Silver Co. A1". Meriden Silver Company then joined to become International Silver. It helped form the International Silver Company in 1898 so I believe this dates before then. I provided photo's from replacements.com with details on this piece. I believe this to be the "Oyster Ladle" but cannot be 100% sure as there are not many details or pictures of other pieces in the collection. There are obvious signs of wear with scratches and discoloration to the silverplate. The handle is unique and beautiful with an Asian style.
