In October 2011, Neil Young hosted the 25th anniversary of the Bridge School with an intimate “Heart of Gold” concert, gala and auction attended by 330 “movers and shakers” of the music and business world.
“Even amid the pantheon of stars, there’s a hierarchy of guitar gods.
On stage at the Heart of Gold Gala, demigod Dave Matthews experienced his own fandom moment. “Earlier, I was hanging at Neil’s house, just having fun, messing around,” Matthews said before his stellar acoustic set. “But, I’m also like, ‘ Holy s-, Neil Young.’”
At the concert, Neil Young performed “Heart of Gold” and guests received gift bags “weighed down with good stuff including a Levi’s Foundation jeans jacket created by artist Shepard Fairey.”
