Exquisite one of a kind handmade carnelian & brass Art Nouveau necklace

This is another one of my all time favorites, quite possibly my favorite, for a number of reasons. It's a beautiful handmade, wire wrapped and pounded by hand brass, carnelian & agate statement necklace, this is a collaboration piece made my brilliant (now passed) mentor, Michael Thomas & I. he only made 1 of these. He was a self taught jewelery designer & maker, started in 1969 during the start of the summer of love on Haight St. Everything he created, was done by using manual hand tools only, no electric tools. The round brass disks were cut out from a big sheet of brass. Then, he'd sand the corners, take a hammer and metal etching tool and tediously hammer the design you see on them. The wire wrapped & weaved beads you see are amazing in their own right, a small one would take him approximately 1 hour to make & when you really take a close look & study them, you'll be able to see the time & attention for detail making one of these required. Truly unique & exquisite wearable art!
