Antique book Little Women

1960 edition of Little Women by Louisa M Alcott which is illustrated by Shirley Hughes who is an award winning illustrator. It was published by Blackie & Son Ltd. The illustrations are in black and white. It is a classic novel about the 4 March sisters growing from childhood to womanhood during the American Civil War focusing on their different personalities, struggles with poverty, thier flaws, tempers etc. as they travel towards love, independence while their father is at war. It is loosely based on the author’s life. It is in excellent condition with no torn, bent or missing pages. With books of this age there is usually alot of dark yellowing to the pages but as the photos show that is not this case. Has been kept on plastic and when the plastic was getting dusty it was put in a cleaner bag.
