This brooch stands as a quintessential example of early Art Deco design, wherein aesthetics and materials like 18k yellow gold and ruby collectively enhance its intrinsic and market value. This piece is well over 100 years old and understandably the clasp has been repaired at some point w 14k as shown by the hallmark on the last photo. I brought this piece to a reputable jeweler who used a X-ray fluorescence (XRF) machine; which is considered the most accurate method of testing. In result of, everything besides the clasp was reading at 18K gold.
